My Work
& Interests

Research and Education of Music and Disability Studies

As a musician with a disability, I am navigating an industry with very little representation disability or body diversity. My first research dissertation is searching for an answer to "Where are the other classical musicicans with disabilities?"

I am passionate in understanding social perspectives and expectations of those with disabilities and what this means for performers in the music industry. Why are venues accessible for the audience but not performers? Is there a 'freekshow culture' still present in todays performances by musicians with disabilities?  Why are we seeing less physically disabled musicians attending UK conservatoires?

How do we go about creating equity in an industry that thrives on tradition and aesthetics? Understanding why means we can explore ways to change ablist attidudes and promote diversity that includes disability.

Music Access & Disability Consultancy

I aim to share knowledge and experience in an accessible format.

Is your education institution inclusive of musicians with disabilities?

Is your venue inviting body-diverse performers? Is it accessible to everyone and not just the audience?

I offer education through creating awareness about inclusive accessibility in every corner. My approach is not just about changing perspectives, it includes dismantling physical barriers. We will work together to find solutions for general building accessibility and personalised accommodations for disabled students, staff and musicians.
